We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Museum Intern to join our team. As a Museum Intern, you will play a crucial role in various aspects of museum operations, including research, cataloging, exhibit development, conservation, education, and digital outreach. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the museum field and contribute to the preservation and presentation of cultural heritage.

Qualifications:

Museum Intern Responsibilities:

  • Research and catalog museum objects, including documentation and data entry into the museum's collection management database
  • Assist in the creation and curation of museum exhibits, including historical research, artifact selection, and exhibition design
  • Provide written and photographic documentation for conservation treatment, technical information for database entries, labels, and publications
  • Participate in the planning, treatment, and installation of artifacts and exhibits throughout the museum's galleries
  • Support educational programming, community outreach, and fund-raising activities
  • Collaborate with the staff to create and maintain online exhibitions and other digital platforms, utilizing skills in web design and digital outreach education
  • Assist in the development of digital interpretive tools for museum exhibitions, such as audio tours, online interactive experiences, and digital signage systems
  • Contribute to the design and production of digital content for print, web, and exhibit projects, including the use of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, and app development
